Review Week 16

How many points are in an inch? How many points are in a pica?

Of the seven classifications, which classification(s) would best work as body type? Why?
Old style, Slab serif, San serif, Modern.

Identify the lowercase characters that have ascenders?

Identify the lowercase characters that have descenders?

Classify the following typefaces and briefly explain why you believe it should be classified that way:


Black letter, because it is highly ornamented and it has elaborate thick and thin strokes.

Old Style, because of the wedge shaped serifs and the low contrast between thick and thin strokes

Decorative, because it looks like it was designed for one specific purpose as apposed to a range of reasons.


San Serif, because the stroke is all the same and it is very boring

Slab Serif, because it has thick, square serifs and the stroke is uniform.



Script, this typeface resembles handwriting and it looks like it could have been mad with a brush.
