What is the pen tool used for?
The pen tool is used to create lines in an Adobe Illustrator document.

How can you manipulate a path/line in Illustrator? Discuss the use of the white arrow tool, pen+, pen-, and convert tool.
There are many ways to manipulate a path/line in Illustrator. You can use the white arrow tool, which helps to move a single anchor in a way that is not originally offered. The pen+ and pen- tools allow you to add or delete an anchor on a line made by the pen tool. And the convert tool helps to convert a line made by the pen tool from a curved to straight line or vise a verse.

How can you utilize the layers palette in Illustrator?

When working with a picture that you are going to trace you can make multiple layers that you have to option to lock and or hide. this allows you the ability to manipulate a line with out disturbing another layer.

How do you create a clipping mask in Adobe Illustrator?
First you make a box around the item/items that you want shown. Then you make sure that the box is in front of everything and that it has no stroke or fill. After you select everything in you picture and go to object and clipping mask and make. The the part of your picture that was in your box will be the part that is shown.
